What you need to know to let the good karma flow.

Welcome to your haven of serenity and charm in the coastal gem of Swakopmund, Namibia.
Allow us to introduce your gracious host, Nicola Theron, a proud Namibian, wife, and loving mother of two, all accompanied by her ever-affectionate big red dog. Nicola’s heart beats for travel, delectable cuisine, the aroma of a freshly brewed coffee, cherished moments, and the warmth of kind-hearted souls.

At Good Karma, we uphold values that are the essence of our being – honesty, integrity, and respect. It’s these principles that guide us in crafting a stay you’ll remember fondly.

Here's a rundown of what you need to know for a delightful stay:

  • Meet our dedicated team! Shaheeda and Shaheeze, our friendly cleaning ladies, will take care of linen and towel changes. Upon request, they can also provide a turndown service. Simson, our skilled gardener, ensures our outdoor spaces are always in top shape.
  • Sit back and relax while our cleaning service takes care of business. Expect a linen change every third day and feel free to leave any additional laundry in the provided bags.
  • Leave the laundry duty to us. Our appliances are off-limits to guests, ensuring a hassle-free stay.
  • Embrace the greenery and flavours of our herb garden. Feel free to pluck some herbs to elevate your culinary creations.
  • Stay connected with our complimentary WiFi. Look for the login details on the leaflet near the front door to unlock a world of connectivity.
  • Keep your valuables secure in the safe located in the main bedroom cupboard. Personalise your lock combination following the provided instructions for added peace of mind.
  • Dive into the perfect cup of joe with our Jura coffee machine. Just follow the displayed instructions for a heavenly brew every time.
  • Reach new heights with our provided step ladder located in the garage. Whether it’s high shelves or lofty dreams, we’ve got you covered.
  • Fire up the braai or pizza oven for a culinary escapade. Follow the instructions for a sizzling experience that will leave your taste buds singing.
  • Gear up for beach adventures with equipment located in our garage. From shading and chairs to braai tools and cutlery, we’ve got everything you need for a day by the shore.
  • Treat yourself to goodies from our mini bar selection. Just remember, restocking is available upon request, but the tab is on you.
  • Cosy up by the indoor fireplace in the lounge with care. Use small pieces of wood or a maximum of three larger logs for safety. Don’t forget to keep the vent open for proper airflow.
  • Simson, our friendly gardener, will be on-site most days of the week between 10:00 am and 14:00 pm. Feel free to say hello or ask any gardening-related questions during his visit.

Now, let’s talk house rules, shall we?

Respect the tranquillity: Keep the peace, especially during our designated quiet hours from 10 PM to 7 AM. No late-night karaoke sessions, please!

No smoking inside: Our home is a smoke-free zone, but feel free to puff away in our designated outdoor areas and dispose of your butts thoughtfully.

Beach etiquette: Please make use of our fish cleaning station to prep your catch of the day(who doesn’t like fresh seafood!) and rinse off the sand in our outdoor shower after a day at the beach. Trust us, nobody likes a sandy bed!
And please don’t forget to place dirty dishes used on the beach in the scullery for cleaning.

Care for amenities: Treat our home with love and respect, just like you would your grandma’s favourite teapot.

Wine cellar courtesy: Enjoy our selection of fine wines, but be sure to leave us a note if you pop a bottle. We like to keep track of these things! And please remember to lock up tight!

Security protocol: Lock up tight when you leave, switch on both inside and outside alarms, because nobody wants unexpected visitors.

No unregistered guests for a stay-over: But feel free to have your friends over for a braai.

Internet use: Surf the web to your heart’s content, but please, no illegal downloads. We prefer our entertainment guilt-free.

Environmental care: Help us save the planet, one light switch at a time. And please use water wisely! We live in a desert after all.

As for check-in and check-out, it’s as easy as pie:

Check-in: From 2:00 PM onwards

If our host can’t personally meet you upon arrival, fret not! We’ve got a backup plan ready to roll. Please note that the host will swing by to greet you shortly. First things first, locate the trusty lockbox near the main entrance when you arrive. The code to unlock it will be sent to you via email or text 24 hours before your check-in date. Inside the lockbox, you’ll discover keys and a remote to disarm the perimeter alarm system. Give that remote a click to silence the alarm, then use it again to open the gate and gain access to your cosy abode. At the back of the remote you’ll find a guide on which colour button to press for these specific tasks. The front door and security shutters keys are right there with the other keys you’ve retrieved. Please note that both locks on security shutters need to be unlocked twice to gain access.

Check-out: By 10:00 AM sharp

Drop the keys back in the lockbox, double-check to ensure you haven’t accidentally taken any property keys with you and bid farewell to Good Karma (for now). But don’t worry, we’ll always leave the porch light on for you.

We genuinely appreciate your cooperation—seriously, you’re like the sunshine on our rainy days! And hey, just a little reminder: we’re always just a phone call away, ready to sprinkle some Good Karma your way!
